Tramping joyfully through ankle-breakingly uneven ground, I arrived at Eslie the Greater after a veritable wild goose chase - identifying Eslie the Lesser and Eslie the Greater (both within eyesight of each other, on a clear day I should add) only after trekking though stoney encampments and boggy fields.
Esslie the Lesser is shown below. Unfortunately I couldn't get up close (also a first!!) as the farmer had got sheep grazing and an electric fence going. I'd gone under electric fences already this trip, but ones which I'd guessed were off, as no livestock were grazing.
Extraordinary heavy metal circle near Aberdeen Dyce airport. One of the finest, most complete monuments of its kind. The growing urbanisation surrounding it cannot hold this druidic temple back.
